3. Heat Pumps

A heat pump functions as both an air conditioner and a heater. During the cold months, it draws heat inside the home from outdoor air. In the summer, the heat pump transfers hot air from inside the house to the outside.

4. Geothermal Systems

A geothermal unit works in a similar way as a heat pump, but it uses the earth to draw heat into the home during the winter while removing heat from the home inside the earth during summer. It’s a safe and environmentally friendly technology, so you don’t need to worry about any harm done to the earth. Geothermal heat pumps last around 50 years, which is longer than the lifespans of other heating systems.
